Analysis- Day/reckoning song

Day/Reckoning song                                                  

This song demonstrates friendship, which is what we are trying to show in out
final piece. This shows different scenes and that's what our idea is all about. 

Camera Shots- The video clip shows different types of camera angles, this is so that even though it shows the same action on the screen, by showing a different angle the audience won't get bored of looking at the scenes. By having different types of angles also makes it enjoyable for the audience to look at. For example it starts with a low angle panning moving the camera upwards, then it shows a birds eye view , and from there it shows a mixture of medium angle images of other places they've been but on a fast past.
Mise en scene- The different settings can also have a big influence on the audience, as again it shows the same action but by changing the places it makes the audience want to keep watching to see where they go next. However, the clothing they are wearing tells the audience that they don't care what they wear as they just want to have fun, it gives a sense of rebels.
Sound- There is no digetic sound, it only shows the non digetic sound which is the music that we hear. However, when ever there is a slow motion there is a change to the sound.
Editing- There is a mixtures of editing for example they use a slow motion which goes with the music. These effects gives a sense they are almost in a dream as they are enjoying themselves so much.

This clip shows a similar idea to our music video, as our theme to our music video is friends. Our video clip idea is very similar to this video as we are also thinking about having different scenes and angles to our final product.

New Mood board Idea

This shows our new mood board idea, It shows different
scenes of friends having fun, we choose to have a pop
music video, as pop is more associated with our age. The
aim is to have different types of angles put together to keep the
audience wanting to keep watching, as we realized that the scenes
are going to be quite similar one to another. 

Audience Research

The Prezi above shows our questionnaire results, this results help the group get a better
understand of what target audience we should aim at and what the majority of people prefer
to listen to. Bellow shows the actual questionnaire that we have sent out, we tried to keep
it simple and easy for people to understand so we could get accurate results in the end.

New Idea and new choice of song

Since one of the member in our group had dropped out and only two of us was left, we decided to change the idea for the music video as we noticed that it would be too complex to create a animation music video.
For the new idea we decided to have friendship as a  theme as it  goes with the new music that we choose ( Imagine Dragons- On top of the world).  The video clip is going to be a mash up of different shoots put together, the different shoots are going to show friendship but the images are going to be shown in all different angles so that it creates an energetic atmosphere.

Below shows the music we are planning to use, we choose this music as we think the lyric of the music matches the theme of friendship as it's a very energetic tone and friendly.

We came up with the idea of mixing different shoots together and putting them together from a introduction of an episode in Portugal 'I love it', below shows the introduction video:

 

Camera angles- The scenes that we as audience see we can tell this was done in the summer time, I think the whole idea of having summer time images is because summer is all about freedom and having fun. In the episode introduction showed allot of range of different shoots for example: close-up, medium and mid angles tracking and other few. The whole idea of having different types of shoot put together is so that it get's the audience 'hocked' into the series and would make the audience want to watch it.
Editing- The editing is done quite fast to go with the music past. As the music is quite fast and energetic and the whole point of having different scenes shown in a fast mode it to go with the rhythm of the music.
Mise en scene- The mise en scene shows different types of personalities put together. I think the whole point is that it shows that even though everyone is different they still get along with each other and respect people's uniqueness and gives the sense of a friendly environment where everyone want to participate, I say this because of the bright colours being used.

 

This opening has influence more our final idea as we had this similar idea from the start. However, our ideas where a bit off and we were not very confident if the whole thing about mixing different shoots would work and by looking at this series opening helped us decide how we could do our music video clip and opened up more new ideas that we could include in our final piece, for example writing with lip stick on the mirror is an effect easy shoot.
