This video clip was made by
Len Lye, this was made in the
1930's. In the video clip shows
painting put together to make the
video clip. The lines that are shown
match with the rhythm of the music, towards the end of the video clip
actually shows an advert about the
cost of posts, as at the time sending
texts did not exist. This clip is quite
simple and quite interesting to look
at because the visual match the rhythm.
Unfortunately the soundies died out after
the war.
1960's the Scopitone- Pussycat A Go Go
This video clip was made in the early 60's
where colour video clip was the new thing.
The Scopitone was the type of jukebox featuring a 16mm film component, at this time scopitone was the modern music videos. where the first scopitones was made in France.
This music video demonstrates a lot of models
in their bikini, I guess the idea of the director was uses of gratifications, so it attracted both females and males attention, by putting a swimming pool scene were models are wearing their bikini.
The Beatles.
The clip on the left shows a clip A hard day's night film from the Beatles made in 1964. when the Beatles started, they had influenced allot of the music videos after, as they were the big talk in the 60's through out.
In the mid 70's the group Queen came in, and were a major success with the music video Bohemian Rhapsody because of the effects of the music video. This effect was created by filming the tv screen and turning side ways. At the beginning shows a mid shoot of the group with the light reflecting on them from a high angle in a dark room.
MTV music television came in the 80's (1st August 1981). It was a major success as at the time there was no music channels and MTV was the only music channel. The first image that was shown on MTV was a montage of Apollo 11 moon landing with the MTV flag already there.

The first music video that were shown on the MTV were:
1. The Buggles-"Video Killed The Radio Star"

2. Pat Benatar-"You Better Run"
3. Rod Stewart-"She Wont Dance With Me"
4.The Who-"You Better You Bet"
MTV at the time was all about music, now in the post 2000 there is more music channels like VH1 and other, and MTV shows now more reality shows like Jersey shore, 16 and pregnant and less of music.
In the 80-90 Madonna and Micheal Jackson were the big thing at the time:
Madonna-"Everybody"
This video was released in 1982.
This video shows a teenager girl that is at the club dancing with her friends, there isn't much variety of different shots, the main shots we see is medium long shot and a bit of panning. However, the lights in the background really make the music video feel really pop and quite enjoyable to watch. This video could've had a such a success maybe because it shows a teenager girl, where many teenager could compare their life with the teenager girl (Madonna) we see.
This was one of the biggest hits in the 80's, it would only play after a certain time on MTV as this video was classified as a horror, and people would actually stay up just to look at this music video. Personal opinion, I wasn't born on the 80's but I really enjoy watching this music video.
On the right Michael Jackson "Thriller".
As technology developed over the time and majority of the population could and still can afford a computer and have access to internet. Websites like Youtube began to come in, where nowadays Youtube can define the charts.
